Who is STARS 4 Schools for?: STARS 4 Schools is currently available for use in secondary schools across England and Wales. An edition for primary schools and editions for Northern Ireland and Scotland are in the pipline.
I already have an MIS (Management Information System). Why should I use STARS 4 Schools?: STARS 4 Schools is not a replacement for your MIS system. It is a complementary product that takes information from your current MIS and facilitates online assessment, student tracking, school statistics, report writing and report delivery. STARS currently works alongside SIMS and has been successfully tested with CMIS.
Does STARS 4 Schools write data to our MIS?: No, STARS 4 Schools extracts data from your MIS on a nightly basis and sends the information - securely - to the STARS web site.
How secure is STARS 4 Schools?: STARS 4 Schools is very secure. All web pages are encrypted using the same technology that banks use (https). The information extracted from your MIS is also encryped before it is sent to STARS 4 Schools. Our servers are located in a secure data centre and all data is backed up off-site every night to an encrypted backup location.
How reliable is STARS 4 Schools?: STARS 4 Schools is very reliable. There is no single point of failure in the system, so it will keep running even if one of our servers or network connections "dies".
Is installation complicated?: No, it is easy and only takes a few minutes. Very little software needs installing at your school because our web servers do the hard work.
How long has STARS 4 Schools been around?: Hyperspheric Solutions Ltd launched STARS 4 Schools locally in July 2009 and nationally at BETT 2010, London.
